Heartfelt Quilting & Sewing LLC was opened in 2005 by Patricia “Pat” Roberts at 365 5th St SW, Winter Haven. This store was a dealer of Janome machines, as well as selling fabric and notions, and offering classes. Over the course of a few years, the store expanded to having locations in Lakeland and Kissimmee, which were also branded the same as the Winter Haven location. Although both locations were successful, changes in infrastructure and location availability caused these locations to be closed. Once again leaving the Winter Haven location as the sole survivor.
In 2016, Pat’s husband, Thomas “Tom” opened Heart of Florida Sewing Machine in order to be a dealer of Handi Quilter longarms while allowing Pat to continue being an “exclusive” Janome dealer. It was during this transition that HFQ moved to 355 5th St SW, Winter Haven and Heart of Florida would remain at 365 5th St SW. For a time, Pat and Tom operated 2 storefronts at 355 & 365 5th St SW, offering Handi Quilter longarms and Janome sewing, quilting, and embroidery machines in the two individual locations.
Unfortunately, in 2020 Covid hit all of us, and after struggling with staff and rising expenses, Heart of Florida closed it’s doors for the final time on June 30, 2021. Heartfelt Quilting & Sewing
would once again stand alone at 355 5th St SW.
Fast forward, almost 2 more years and
Heartfelt Quilting & Sewing
is has now moved to a newly renovated storefront at 1120 6th St SW, where Pat and Tom are sharing space and selling both Handi Quilter and Janome from one storefront.
